Local Authority Stairlift Grants

There are various Local Authority stairlift grants available in Ireland. These help to fund home adaptations for the ageing population in Ireland. These grants are designed to allow one to age successfully in your home.

Grants can be used to fund stairlifts, bathroom adaptations, ramps, grab rails and other modifications that make the home easier to live in safely.

How Stairlift Grants Work

If you need a stairlift, or changes to your home that are designed to address mobility problems, you may be entitled to a grant from you local council.

Usually your local authority’s Housing Department will look after this – they will provide you with the requisite forms and let you know what paperwork you need to provide.

You (or the enduser) may be means tested to see if you are eligible for a grant.

N.B. If you live in a council house you may be entitled to a stairlift that is 100% funded – contact your housing department to find out more.

Rental stairlifts are a popular temporary option if you are waiting for stairlift grant approval. Sometimes grant approval can take a long time and renting a stairlift in the meantime is a common solution to this problem.

Able Plus Stairlifts have nearly twenty years experience in installing grant funded stairlifts.

We offer free quotes and advice on applying for the grant, filling in the forms; and answering any questions that you may have.
