Local Authority Stairlift Grants

There are various Local Authority stairlift grants available in Ireland. Such funds help pay for home adaptations for our ageing population.

Grants can be used to fund stairlifts, bathroom adaptations, ramps, grab rails and other modifications that make the home easier to live in safely.

How Stairlift Grants Work

Do you need a stairlift or changes to your home that will address mobility problems? You may be entitled to a grant from your local council.

Usually, your local authority’s Housing Department will look after this. They will provide you with the right forms and let you know what paperwork you need to provide.

You (or the end-user) may be means-tested to see if you are eligible for a grant.

N.B. If you live in a council house you may stairlift grants can be 100% of the cost. Contact your housing department to find out more.

Rental stairlifts are a popular temporary option when waiting for stairlift grant approval.

Sometimes approval can take a long time. A solution to this problem is renting a stairlift in the meantime.

Able Plus Stairlifts have nearly twenty years of experience in installing grant-funded stairlift in the Irish market. We know how grant-funding works in Ireland and will be able to help you fill out any forms.

We offer free quotes & advice on applying for the grant. Filling in the forms and answer any questions that you may have.
