Stairlift Grants

Local Authority Stairlift Grants

There are various Local Authority stairlift grants available in Ireland. Such funds help pay for home adaptations for the ageing population in Ireland.

Grants can be used to fund stairlifts, bathroom adaptations, ramps, grab rails and other modifications that make the home easier to live in safely.

Stairlift grants available nationwide.

How Stairlift Grants Work

Do you need a stairlift or changes to your home that will address mobility problems? You may be entitled to a grant from your local council.

Usually, your local authority’s Housing Department will look after this. They will provide you with the right forms and let you know what paperwork you need to provide.

You (or the end-user) may be means-tested to see if you are eligible for a grant.

N.B. If you live in a council house stairlift grants can cover 100% of the cost. Contact your housing department to find out more.

Sometimes grant approval can take a long time. A solution to this problem is renting a stairlift in the meantime.

Stairlifts can come with a five-year motor warranty, if a stairlift is modified or repaired by someone not certified to work on it the motor warranty will be invalidated.
