An occupational therapist is qualified to give advice. The Association Of Occupational Therapists of Ireland website has a list of private practice occupational therapists.

Stairlifts are very easy to live with if you keep them in good condition and service them regularly, like any mechanical device they need to be serviced regularly and they do sometimes break-down.
